Xi Jinping departed Beijing on a special plane, accompanied by Peng Liyuan, Cai Qi, Wang Yi, and others

CCTV reported that Chinese President Xi Jinping has departed Beijing on a special plane for a state visit to the United States at the invitation of U.S. President Donald Trump.
The report noted that President Xi is accompanied by his wife, Peng Liyuan; Cai Qi, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Director of the General Office of the CPC Central Committee; and Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Foreign Minister, among others.
According to the White House schedule, U.S. President Donald Trump will attend a welcoming ceremony for Chinese President Xi Jinping at Joint Base Andrews, near Washington, D.C., at 6:00 p.m. Eastern Time on Wednesday.
U.S. Treasury Secretary Bessent and Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng had previously met in New York; Bessent noted that the dialogue set the stage for the Trump-Xi summit.
Observers believe that key topics at the summit—spanning the realms of economics, trade, and national security—will include an AI dialogue mechanism, an extension of the tariff war truce, and rare-earth supply issues.
On the 23rd, Xie Feng, China’s Ambassador to the U.S., published a signed article in the People’s Daily outlining four proposals regarding U.S.-China competition. He argued against erecting a “Silicon Curtain” or launching an AI-era “Star Wars” program, and emphasized that four “red lines”—the Taiwan issue, democracy and human rights, the path and system of development, and the right to development—must not be challenged.
